On The CofE and the culture of silence.

My best friend sent me the following message:

“Do not sew your lips up Jaynie. Your voice is powerful.”

I’m learning to be increasingly courageous in gently unpicking the threads that have bound me and using my voice in ways which are constructive, honourable and sustaining. This feels counter-cultural and really scary, because the institution which has dominated my life for the past 8 years, the Church of England, is one which prizes silence.
